Speaking on Monday during an interview with Arise News, Governor Sule clarified that his former cabinet members had performed well under the state’s Economic Strategy One framework. However, the dissolution was necessary to form a new team capable of driving the implementation of the state’s Economic Strategy Two.

The Governor, who dismissed his cabinet last Friday, also appointed 45 permanent secretaries to fill administrative gaps. He emphasized that some members of the dissolved cabinet would be reappointed to join the new team.

“This is a strategic move to strengthen the team, focus on areas of competitive advantage, and drive development effectively,” Sule explained.

Highlighting the contributions of the former team, he said, “The Secretary to the State Government served for nearly five years, becoming the longest-serving in Nasarawa’s history. Many commissioners worked tirelessly during the election period and throughout their tenure. We were so satisfied with their performance that it became challenging to decide who to retain or remove. As a result, we opted to dissolve the entire council.”

He added, “Now, we are transitioning to Economic Strategy Two, which emphasizes competitive advantages in security, agriculture, mining, education, health, and rural-urban development. We need a team that understands these priorities to collaborate with the existing structures and accelerate development.”
