The governor emphasized that he is a recipient of God’s grace, mercy, and benevolence, and nothing will deter him from serving both God and humanity.

Governor Uzodimma made these remarks during the dedication of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Parish in his hometown, Ozuh Omuma, Oru East local government area of the state, on Sunday.

Most Rev. Dr. Augustine Ukwuoma, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Orlu, stated in his sermon that the dedication of the church would contribute to peace and help end the insecurity and violence in the area and other parts of the state.

At the conclusion of the service, Governor Uzodimma expressed his gratitude to dignitaries from various parts of the country and took the opportunity to clarify that neither he nor his government played a role in the violence in Imo State. He characterized the insinuations as malicious, diabolical, and an attempt to tarnish his reputation and malign his administration.

The governor reiterated that, as a leader, he seeks peace to effectively serve the people and urged those behind the insecurity in Imo State to reconsider their actions or face divine consequences.

Governor Uzodimma stated that despite the numerous allegations and attempts to discredit him and his administration, he remains steadfast in his belief that God is on his side, asserting that “power belongs to God.” He expressed his gratitude to God for the blessings he has received and underscored the implausibility of linking him or his government to the source of conflicts and violence in the state.
