The governor said he had no prior knowledge of the activity and did not authorise it.
The controversy erupted after videos from the weekend event in Kano circulated online, with claims that the display was part of an empowerment programme allegedly linked to the state government.
Speaking during a special prayer session at the Government House in Kano, Yusuf distanced himself from the incident, insisting it took place without his approval or awareness.
He also condemned the public display, describing it as inconsistent with the cultural and religious values upheld in the state.
According to the governor, he was informed about the development while going about his normal duties and immediately made it clear he had no connection to it.
He stressed that such actions run contrary to local traditions and Islamic teachings, adding that the conduct was unacceptable and strongly condemned by his administration.
