Reacting to a doctor’s X post highlighting the N57,000 price tag on Augmentin, Tolu Ogunlesi criticized the current “price-gouging” of the drug. He emphasized that there are alternative, more affordable brands with the same active ingredients as Augmentin, making them a cost-effective choice.
In a statement, Ogunlesi remarked, “Any doctor INSISTING on prescribing Augmentin at this time has a lot of explaining to do.” The call for explanations comes amidst growing concerns about the accessibility and affordability of essential medications in Nigeria.
