Although Nino is a talented saxophonist, 2Baba shared that his son aspires to become a medical doctor instead.
The musician made the revelation while bringing Nino on stage during an event in Abuja celebrating 25 years of his music career.
“Making some noise for my son Nino, mehn,” he told the audience as he introduced him.
“He said he doesn’t want to be a singer. He wants to be a doctor,” he added, earning cheers from attendees.
Nino Idibia was born on January 15, 2006, to 2Baba and his former partner, Sumbo Adeoye.
Meanwhile, 2Baba and Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy.
Speculation about the birth had intensified earlier on Friday after Osawaru was reportedly spotted at a hospital, fuelling rumours that she had gone into labour. Hours later, she confirmed the news in a brief announcement on her official Facebook page, stating that the couple had been “blessed with a baby boy.”
Her post immediately sparked a flood of congratulatory messages from fans, supporters, and well-wishers. The arrival of the baby marks a new chapter in the widely followed relationship between 2Baba and Osawaru.
The couple formalized their union earlier this year, following the singer’s separation from Annie Idibia in January. Their relationship quickly captured public attention, from a Valentine’s Eve proposal to family visits and traditional rites over the ensuing months.
In July, they held a private traditional wedding in Abuja, attended only by close family members. Though low-key, the ceremony signaled the start of their new life together and has continued to attract public interest.
