When she informed him about the situation, his response was brief—he only asked if she was okay and quickly ended the conversation. Nkechi said his reply showed a lack of genuine effort.

She emphasized that a man who wants to build a serious relationship should not ignore opportunities to show care. “I wasn’t asking for help,” she said, “but I expected at least a little concern or support.”

Ultimately, she fixed the tyres herself. Hours later, the man sent another message asking if she had sorted things out, to which she replied that she had already purchased two new tyres.

Nkechi contrasted this with the way a male friend in Abuja treated her. When she mentioned she had work in the city, he immediately offered to cover her hotel arrangements. Even when she insisted on handling it herself, he insisted on taking care of it, which she described as a clear example of how a man who truly cares behaves.

The actress explained that while she values her independence, she believes a man should demonstrate effort when it counts—not by taking over, but by showing he is willing to act when needed.
