During an interactive session with the AICL team led by Group Managing Director Moreen Tamuno, Committee Chairman Muktar Betara emphasized the need for effective partnerships to improve infrastructure management and revenue generation in the FCT. Betara expressed past disappointment with infrastructure management but is hopeful for improvement with new leadership.
Betara stated, “I advise you to remove anyone not willing to work effectively, so you can operate efficiently. The Committee is ready to support you and the FCT.”
Committee member Timilehin Adelegbe from Ondo State urged AICL to conduct a comprehensive audit of staff to identify any hindrances to progress.
Regina Akume (APC, Benue) cautioned against the neglectful attitude often seen in government, urging the team to address issues proactively. “We need to overcome the mentality of ‘it’s not my problem’ and instead take collective responsibility to fix the issues,” she said.
Dr. Tamuno acknowledged ongoing challenges with revenue leakages and assured that efforts are underway to address these issues. She affirmed that under her leadership, the FCT will not be neglected and promised progress in repositioning the territory.
