Housewife Commits Suicide In Front Of Police Station, Leaves Behind Three Children

In Enugu state, a tragic incident unfolded as an unidentified mother of three young children reportedly took her own life. The distressing event occurred last weekend in front of Ogui Police Station, where the woman, allegedly grappling with depression, ran into a moving vehicle, resulting in her immediate demise. The root cause of her despair was linked to her husband’s departure, driven by financial hardships, leaving her alone to care for their three children.

The heartbreaking episode unfolded when the woman dropped off her three children at the police station, shedding her clothes, and proceeded to run naked into traffic, ultimately meeting a fatal collision with a moving vehicle. Upon questioning, the eldest child, unable to provide specific details about their family, town, or residential address, mentioned that their father had “got lost.”

Responding to the tragic circumstances, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, the wife of the Enugu State governor, extended a compassionate gesture. During an impromptu visit to Ogui Police Station, where the children were being held, she announced her commitment to sponsor a scholarship for the bereaved siblings, all under the age of seven. Mrs. Mbah, moved by the poignant narrative surrounding the mother’s death, expressed her determination to support and nurture the children’s education, covering their academic journey from Nursery school through University. This initiative seeks to provide a ray of hope and stability for the children who have endured the loss of their mother in distressing circumstances.
