The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, has asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) lacks the necessary presence and support to defeat the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the upcoming November 8 governorship election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Soludo made this statement during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Wednesday. This comes after the National Chairman of the ruling APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, repeatedly mentioned that the party is eyeing southern states under opposition control, including Edo, Anambra, Osun, and Oyo.

In response, Soludo dismissed comparisons between Anambra and states like Edo, Imo, and Kogi, stating that the dynamics in those states were different. He pointed out that in Imo and Kogi, the incumbent APC governors were re-elected, while Edo saw APC’s strong presence in the legislature, making it a competitive race between APC and the PDP.

Soludo emphasized, “In Anambra, APC doesn’t even have a single councillor. In all past elections, they’ve failed to gain any significant traction, scoring only about 3–4% of the votes. You can’t build on nothing.”

Despite this confidence, Soludo maintained that APGA would not underestimate the race. “We’re not taking anything for granted. Every election is serious. We will approach it as the underdog,” he added.

Addressing concerns over potential federal interference, Soludo expressed faith in the democratic process, stating his trust in INEC, the President, and the Federal Government to ensure a fair election.

Soludo also took the opportunity to highlight his administration’s achievements in sectors like education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
