The presidential campaign of the just concluded election was a show of shame and an eyesore in Christendom as many “men of God” made it known to their church members that the flagbearer of the Labour Party, Obi will emerge as the 16th President of Nigeria. The likes of Paul Eneche, Suleiman, and Numerous reverend fathers all fall into the list of men of God whose prophecies missed the benchmark.

Omorki backed the Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai on his suggested plan to regulate preaching in religious gatherings. CONTINUE READING

He added that the presidential election “exposed too many men of God to be even worse than the politicians they condemn.”

In his words, he said;

“How do Nigerians still wake up and go to a church pastored by a man who said he has revelations that he will be the 16th President of Nigeria or that of a man who prophesied that Peter Obi will be President or that of a man who convulsed on the altar and rained curses on those who allegedly rigged the election against Peter Obi. Yet, God allowed Tinubu to be sworn in, despite his public curses. And Tinubu was not just sworn in. So far, he is performing well.”

El-Rufai is a vile fellow. However, his plan for a law to regulate preaching is not a bad idea, especially in Christianity. The #NigerianElections2023 exposed too many men of God to be even worse than the politicians they condemn. It was not just partisan characters like Paul Enemche. Sadly, even the Catholic Church, which is the most organised and disciplined church in the world (if you like get angry, but the Catholic Church has my respect), allowed some of its priests to get carried away during this election.
