In a remarkable turn of events, Godswill Akpabio emerged as the President of the tenth “uncommon” Senate, garnering support from various party leaders and politicians across the country. From party chieftains to opposition party members, Akpabio received backing from influential figures such as Wike, Seyi Makinde, President Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, and others who played a pivotal role in realizing Akpabio’s ambition to become the Senate President.

Akpabio alongside his Deputy Barau, Saliu Mustapha, others made a swift move to Wike’s private residence in Abuja to thank him for ensuring Senators from Rivers cast their votes for the Akpabio-Barau ticket.

A Few weeks ago Wike declared full support for Akpabio ambition claiming “Akpabio Supported Me When I Wanted To Be Governor Of Rivers State, It’s Payback Time.”
