How Do You Explain This Nonsense?” – Efe Warriboy Slams Gov. Alia Over Alleged Political Game
Popular Nigerian comedian, Efe Warriboy, has publicly criticized Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, accusing him of politicizing the pain of the people following the recent Yelewata massacre.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Efe’s comments come in response to the Benue State Government’s declaration of Wednesday, June 18, as a public holiday to welcome President Bola Tinubu—despite the state still mourning the loss of dozens of lives in the massacre. The announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Deborah Ambe, calling on residents to turn out en masse for the President’s visit.
Reacting in a passionate Instagram video, Efe condemned the holiday declaration, calling it an insensitive move and a mockery of the grieving families in Benue.
He expressed outrage over the situation, saying:
“I’m trying to be respectful, but it’s hard. What’s happening in Benue shows that once you get power in Nigeria—whether Reverend Father or politician—a demon enters you. And if you join APC, it gets worse. Same goes for PDP—they’re all the same.”
Efe questioned why a state in mourning would be asked to celebrate a political visit:
“People just lost family members—someone said he lost 20 relatives—yet the Governor declares a holiday to welcome Tinubu. For what? Is he commissioning a project or corpses? The President should be visiting quietly, not expecting celebration.”
He further accused Governor Alia of placing politics above humanity, saying:
“What Governor Alia is doing is playing politics with the lives of his people. He doesn’t want to offend his political godfathers ahead of 2027. But how else do you explain this nonsense?”
Efe’s remarks have sparked widespread discussion online, with many Nigerians echoing his sentiments about the disconnect between political leaders and the suffering masses.
