Buhari emphasized that he neither enriched himself nor misappropriated public funds during his tenure.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held on Saturday at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Government House, Katsina State, Buhari highlighted the importance of accountability and transparency for political and public officeholders.

“After serving eight years as a civilian president, I have only three houses—one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have rented out one of them, and that is where I get money for my feeding,” he said.

At the same event, Buhari described Nigeria as a complex country to govern, reflecting on the immense challenges his administration faced despite its efforts to address the nation’s problems.

“Those outside the corridors of power do not understand the complexities and difficulties facing Nigeria,” he noted.

Buhari, who handed over to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2023, also shared that his health has significantly improved since leaving office.

“My health has improved since I left office. People who visit me now say I look better than before,” he revealed.
