In her posts, she recounted meeting the lecturer in mid-2019 and quickly falling in love, believing they had a shared future. He expressed dissatisfaction with his teaching job and spoke of his desire to find better opportunities abroad, particularly where his elder brother lived.

By 2022, the lecturer informed her that his visa to the UK had been approved. While she was initially happy for him, that joy turned to heartbreak when she discovered she was pregnant. “When I told him about the pregnancy, he said he wouldn’t advise me to keep it because he was traveling and wasn’t ready to be a father,” she shared. Despite the risks to her health, he urged her to terminate the pregnancy, even suggesting pills. “I told him I wasn’t ready to lose my life,” she added, unaware that she was carrying twins.

As her pregnancy progressed, the lecturer severed all communication. “He never called or responded to my WhatsApp messages,” she lamented, recalling the sickness and hospitalizations she endured alone. The twins were eventually delivered via a challenging Caesarean section, with one requiring oxygen due to complications. Even after sharing the news of their birth, the father remained unresponsive. “I sent him a video of the babies, but he didn’t reply,” she said.

The financial burden of hospital bills soon became overwhelming, with her family struggling to pay the final amount of 233,000 Naira. “My mum was running around trying to source funds,” she explained. After being discharged, she faced the daunting task of caring for the children on her own, naming them and managing everything without any support from him.

Attempts to reach his family were fruitless; his brother in Nigeria blocked her after initially promising to help. When she traveled to Ondo State to confront his family, borrowing money from a loan app to do so, she was met with hostility. His brother intercepted them at the gate of Adeyemi College of Education to avoid a scene, and when they finally spoke, the lecturer’s father refused to take responsibility, verbally abusing her until she was in tears.

Feeling desperate, she blocked his number and decided to share her story publicly in search of assistance. “If you know his family in Ondo, please help me reach out to them. The economy is tough; I need support for feeding, clothing, and the kids’ education,” she pleaded. She emphasized, “I am not interested in marrying Kola or having any relationship with him… I just want my kids to be taken care of.”
