A man, referred to by some as Zimbabwe’s own “Baltasar,” reportedly faced violent backlash from a group of enraged husbands after being accused of engaging in affairs with their wives. In a video shared by Crimewatch Zimbabwe on X (formerly Twitter), members of the Mapostori sect are seen holding the man down and beating him with what appear to be rubber sticks. The video, recorded by a witness and posted on social media, shows the men interrogating him, with one asking, “How many women have you slept with, and why did you do it?” Allegedly, the man engaged in these relationships after some women claimed dissatisfaction with their marriages.
The footage has sparked outrage on social media, with many users tagging law enforcement and urging police to intervene. Reactions have been swift, with many viewers shocked by the violence, noting an increase in recent arrests involving assaults on individuals accused of infidelity.
