I Give You Permission’ – Bwala Dares Amaechi To Reveal Secret Atiku Conversation

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has challenged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to publicly disclose the details of a private conversation they allegedly had concerning former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The challenge followed Amaechi’s appearance on Channels Television, where he reminded Bwala of a confidential discussion they had before the presidential aide changed his political position. Amaechi, however, declined to reveal the contents of the conversation, saying it was held in confidence.

Responding in a post on X on Wednesday, Bwala said Amaechi had his full permission to make the conversation public.

“My attention was drawn to an interview where you said that after I left Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, you called me and I told you something which you refused to disclose because you considered it confidential. I, Daniel Bwala, hereby give you permission to tell the whole world,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Amaechi also criticised the Tinubu administration amid renewed debate over the President’s academic records, insisting that his own educational background is easily verifiable.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the former Rivers State governor said he has former classmates from his primary school, secondary school and university days who can confirm his academic history.

Amaechi said there are numerous people who attended school with him, including former Abia State Governor Alex Otti, whom he described as his junior at the University of Port Harcourt, adding that his educational qualifications can be independently verified.

The former Minister of Transportation’s remarks came amid public discussions over documents submitted by President Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Amaechi also called on President Tinubu and his aides to show greater respect for the Christian faith, the Catholic Church and its bishops following criticism directed at Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan.

The cleric had faced criticism from some presidential aides after commenting publicly on a recent meeting between President Tinubu and members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria.

Amaechi urged the administration to accord religious leaders the respect they deserve and avoid actions capable of undermining the Christian community.
