I Have Nothing”: Elon Musk’s Estranged Daughter Vivian Reveals She Lives With 3 Roommates

The 21-year-old aspiring model explained in an interview with The Cut (published Tuesday, September 2) that she shares an apartment with three roommates because it is more affordable.
“People assume I have a lot of money. I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars at my disposal,” she said. “My mom is wealthy, sure — but the other one [Musk] is on an unimaginable level of rich.”
While her father, the Tesla founder, is worth an estimated $413 billion, Wilson stressed she has no desire to chase immense wealth. “I can afford food. I have friends, a shelter, and some expendable income, which is much more than many people my age in Los Angeles.”
Wilson, the eldest of Musk’s 14 children, severed ties with him in 2022 after legally changing her gender and name. Since then, she has openly criticized her father, branding him a “pathetic man-child” for failing to accept her identity. Musk, on his part, has claimed she was “k!lled by the woke mind virus” and said he was “tricked” into supporting her transition at 16.
Reflecting on the fallout, Wilson quipped that the most stereotypical thing about her was having “Daddy issues.”
She also described her privileged childhood, attending a private high school filled with celebrity kids such as Apple Martin, daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. She was taught multiple languages — including Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish — and later attended colleges in Canada and Japan before dropping out, blaming artificial intelligence for “killing her motivation.”
Now represented by an agent and fresh off a Teen Vogue cover, Wilson admitted she struggles with fame. “I fought so hard to be seen as just a regular person. Right before I became famous, nobody knew me and it was amazing. I kind of miss that. But at the same time, I like being famous.”
