Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has cautioned Unoma Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, against interfering in the sexual harassment and intimidation allegations she has leveled against her husband.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Akpoti-Uduaghan had earlier accused Akpabio of making inappropriate advances toward her and claimed that her motion was denied because she rejected his alleged propositions. She made these allegations during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday.

In response, Unoma Akpabio dismissed the claims, stating that Natasha was merely seeking attention and attempting to tarnish her husband’s reputation for personal gain. She described the accusations as baseless, insisting that Akpabio and Natasha’s husband share a strong friendship.

However, in a letter dated March 1, 2025, addressed to Unoma Akpabio through her lawyer, Victor Giwa, Akpoti-Uduaghan urged the Senate President’s wife to stay out of the matter, emphasizing that her husband should be the one to respond to the allegations.

The letter, titled “Stay Away from Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sexual Harassment and Intimidation Allegation Against Sen. President Godswill Akpabio; To Safeguard Your Sanity and That of Your Family,” stressed that the accusations were personal and should be defended by the Senate President himself.

Akpoti-Uduaghan maintained that she had endured repeated harassment from Akpabio and was left with no choice but to speak out. She also asserted that she possesses concrete evidence to substantiate her claims.

Part of the letter read:
“Our client does not wish to involve you in the unfortunate matter concerning her allegations against the Senate President and advises that you refrain from interfering in the situation. While she has tolerated persistent harassment from the Senate President, she was ultimately compelled to expose the mistreatment and victimization she has faced in the red chambers at his hands.

“Therefore, we wish to clarify that our client’s allegations are directed at the Senate President alone, and she firmly believes that he has the ability to defend himself. Our client possesses substantial evidence to support her claims and strongly advises you to allow the Senate President to respond on his own, for the sake of your well-being and that of your family.

“As a firm advocate for Nigerian women and a dedicated family woman, our client remains committed to upholding shared values and ensuring justice.”
