Apostle Arome Osayi Takes Major Decision After Backlash Over Claims Of Seeing Jesus And Angels

Apostle Arome Osayi, founder of Remnant Christian Network (RCN), has announced that he will no longer share details of his alleged spiritual encounters on social media following growing criticism over his claims of seeing Jesus Christ, angels and experiencing supernatural events.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the cleric made the announcement in a video circulating online, explaining that some people had accused him of using his testimonies to promote his spirituality.

Osayi, however, maintained that his experiences were genuine, insisting that encountering angels was part of his calling and not something he could simply stop experiencing.

“I’ve decided that I will no longer be discussing my encounters online because people believe that I’m advertising my spirituality, that he’s saying that he sees angels. I see them almost every day. You cannot use the Bible to contradict that kind of encounter,” he said.

Defending his claims, the preacher argued that biblical figures who maintained close relationships with God also encountered angels. He insisted that his alleged experiences were consistent with his understanding of his spiritual calling.

“People that were right with God in the Bible, they saw angels. I see them. It’s part of my calling,” he added.

The cleric further clarified that his decision to stop discussing the encounters publicly did not mean the experiences had ceased. He also claimed to have witnessed events in heaven and suggested that some of his alleged revelations would become clearer when they eventually came to pass.

“There’s no way you’d think that I would say, okay, I don’t see them again. No. I have seen some things in heaven,” Osayi stated.

He also warned that some people could face displacement in the coming days, attributing the alleged development to what he described as their refusal to consecrate themselves to God.

“You are going to see in the days to come, people that will be displaced. The reason for the displacement is because of a refusal to consecrate themselves to God,” he said.

The announcement comes amid controversy surrounding the preacher’s accounts of supernatural encounters, which have attracted criticism from social media users, entertainers and fellow Christian clerics.

One of the most widely discussed accounts involved Osayi’s claim that he encountered Jesus Christ during a visit to a beach in Tanzania. According to his testimony, he asked Jesus for the power to raise the dead and reverse autism, claiming that he was instructed to send ₦5 million to a pastor in exchange for the powers.

Osayi also alleged that an angel touched him on the head during a subsequent church ministration, after which five people who had been unable to walk stood up and walked. The account resurfaced on social media in September 2026, prompting questions about the authenticity of the claims and the circumstances surrounding the alleged money transfer.

The controversy intensified on October 4, 2026, when Nigerian singer Skales criticised the preacher’s claims in a post on X. Reacting to a viral video in which Osayi described being taken to heaven and meeting Jesus alongside 13 other people, Skales called for regulation of individuals whose claims, in his view, risked undermining the credibility of the gospel.

Pastor Abel Damina also questioned the biblical basis of some of Osayi’s testimonies. Damina reportedly addressed the issue during a church service on October 8, 2026, following requests from members of the public for his response.

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo later joined the debate, publicly questioning Osayi’s claims about visiting heaven in a video shared on Instagram on October 19.

Despite the backlash, Osayi has continued to defend his alleged spiritual experiences. His latest announcement suggests that, although he intends to stop discussing them publicly, he does not intend to withdraw his claims about what he says he has witnessed.
