Award-winning Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has attributed the breakup of the iconic music duo, PSquare, to the actions of fans who constantly compared him with his twin brother, Paul.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during the AYLIVE Easter show, Mr P explained that the persistent comparisons between the two brothers sparked ego clashes and internal conflict, eventually leading to the group’s split.

“Fans are the reason PSquare is no more,” he declared. “Two brothers were doing the same thing, and fans kept saying one was better than the other. It got into someone’s head, and things fell apart. If you like, go home—I no send una.”

In a separate revelation, Mr P also spoke about enduring years of betrayal and manipulation from within his own family. This came shortly after he testified in a major case before the Federal High Court in Lagos, where his older brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, is facing serious money laundering charges.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has slammed Jude Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited, with a seven-count charge involving the alleged laundering of N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59—monies reportedly tied to PSquare’s royalties.

Taking to Instagram on April 15, 2025, Peter encouraged others not to suffer in silence, revealing that he had tolerated family-induced pain for over 20 years.

“A family that steals from you, discriminates, or ignores your pain is not family,” he wrote. “I choose my sanity now. Mental health over everything.”
