Taking to his social media platform, X, Musk wrote:
“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Democrats would control the House, and Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate. Such ingratitude.”

Musk’s fiery response came after Trump accused him of hypocrisy for criticizing the bill—insisting that Musk had previously supported its provisions.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump expressed disappointment in Musk’s about-face.
“Elon understood this bill better than almost anyone in the room. He had no issues with it—until we decided to scale back the EV mandate,” Trump said.

Musk swiftly denied Trump’s claims, asserting he had no prior access to the legislation.

“This bill was never shown to me—not even once,” Musk posted.
“It was passed in the dead of night so quickly that hardly anyone in Congress even had time to read it.”
