I Survived 14 Armed Robbers, But The Hospital Rejected Me” – Somtochukwu Reveals Harrowing Ordeal

Arise News anchor, Ojinika Okpe, has shared details surrounding the tragic death of her colleague, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, fondly known as Sommie.

Sommie lost her life on Monday following an armed robbery at her residence in the Katampe area of Abuja.

Speaking on the station’s morning show on Tuesday, Ojinika revealed that she had contacted their Abuja correspondent, who confirmed that Sommie did not die immediately during the attack.

“She jumped from her home after learning that about 14 armed robbers had invaded the house. She survived the fall and was taken to the hospital, but shockingly, she was rejected,” Ojinika explained.

The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, also expressed deep sorrow over Sommie’s death. In a statement released by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, Wike described her passing as a painful loss for both her colleagues and the nation.

The former Rivers State governor prayed for Sommie’s soul to rest in peace and assured that the police would thoroughly investigate the circumstances of her death and bring the perpetrators to justice.

FCTA Mandate Secretary on Health, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, confirmed that Somtochukwu was brought in dead to Maitama General Hospital around 4:30 a.m. on Monday. He added that the preliminary medical report would be submitted to the police to aid in their investigation.
