Tinubu specifically directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with the Oyo State Government in providing immediate and comprehensive relief to the victims of the explosion. In his message of condolence, the President empathized with the government and people of Oyo State, urging all relevant government agencies to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.

The President expressed worry about attributing the blast to the activities of illegal miners, emphasizing the need to uncover and punish those responsible for the inexcusable and reckless behavior that led to the tragic event. In the wake of the explosion that rocked Dejo Oyelese Street in the Bodija area of the city at approximately 7 pm on Tuesday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde attributed the incident to illegal miners, revealing that two individuals lost their lives, and 77 others sustained injuries, as reported by BUSHRADIOGIST.
