The actor made the remarks during an interview with Ifedayo Agoro, where he discussed cheating and the appropriate way partners should handle such situations in marriage.
According to him, a cheating partner should not be met solely with anger or condemnation, but rather with empathy and an attempt to understand the underlying issues that may have contributed to the behaviour.
He explained that infidelity could sometimes signal that a partner is going through personal struggles, adding that healing in a marriage may begin when both individuals approach the situation calmly and with a willingness to resolve underlying problems.
In his words, “The first approach to your partner cheating in a marriage should come from a place of ‘how can I help you?’”
He further added, “If they cheat on you, they are in a problem, so you should ask yourself how you can help them get out of that problem, and then we can start healing.”
Daniel Etim-Effiong is known for his roles in films and series such as Plan B, Blood Sisters, Castle and Castle, and The Men’s Club.
Before venturing into acting, he studied Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He is married to media personality Toyosi Etim-Effiong, and they have three children together.
