Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the legal representative of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has revealed that he narrowly survived five assassination attempts due to his defense of Nnamdi Kanu. In a statement titled “Crucial Clarifications Regarding The Case/Trial Of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” Ejiofor recounted the perilous incidents that occurred between 2015 and 2021.

During this period, Ejiofor narrated that he faced five orchestrated attempts on his life, orchestrated by individuals explicitly instructed to eliminate him. He detailed the ruthless operations, resulting in the loss of numerous innocent lives and the destruction of over 30 houses, all aimed at eradicating him for his role as Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Attorney and lead counsel for IPOB.

Ejiofor lamented the failure of their malicious mission on December 2, 2019, prompting another violent invasion of his ancestral home in June 2021. This invasion, marked by specific targeting to ensure his presence, led to the tragic murder of his personal assistant, Mr. Samuel Okoro. Okoro’s lifeless body was callously dumped in the trunk of Ejiofor’s car and set ablaze in Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The lawyer further revealed that three of his associates, Ugochukwu Lawrence, Felix Okafor, and Ikenna Chibuike, were abducted during this brutal incident and remain in detention to date. Ejiofor emphasized that his relentless efforts are focused on securing the release of these individuals who have been unjustly detained.

Reflecting on the five consecutive assassination attempts between 2015 and 2021, Ejiofor asserted that these attacks were not motivated by criminal activities on his part but rather stemmed from his unwavering commitment to defending Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the ideals of Ezigbo Umuchineke.
