In addition to the SPS, the IGP has also finalized plans to launch a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) handbook for the Safe Schools Programme.

This initiative aims to provide best practices and guidelines for securing schools, conducting risk assessments, implementing emergency response protocols, and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders.

The official launch and training event for the SOP handbook is scheduled for August 9, 2023, with participants from diverse sectors, including government, security agencies, civil society organizations, media, school administrators, and unions.

The IGP urges all relevant stakeholders to actively support and participate in these initiatives, emphasizing the importance of a united approach in building a robust education system that guarantees a secure and conducive learning environment for every child in Nigeria.
