I’m Absolutely Disgusted!’ — Bode George Reacts To PDP Ibadan Convention Court Ruling

A Federal High Court in Ibadan recently invalidated the PDP National Convention held on November 15, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State. The court, led by Justice Uche Agomoh, barred members of the Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) from presenting themselves as national officers of the party and recognized the faction led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Speaking to Arise Television on Friday, George described the judgment recognizing the Wike-led faction as “absolutely disgusting.” He questioned how the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) could have monitored the convention of the Wike faction.
“INEC monitored the National Convention of our party in Ibadan, which is the proper procedure. It is unclear where or how the Wike faction’s convention was monitored, if at all,” George said.
He added, “The judgment from Ibadan deviated from the matter before the court. We will appeal. The judge strayed, speaking as if she were in a beer parlour. It’s unfortunate that this is the standard of people we have. At my age, I have seen much. It reminds me of the likes of Justice JIC Taylor in Lagos and others.”
Reflecting on the situation, George said, “I am grateful to God to have lived to see this stage. Let us act justly. People will come and go. What has happened is history that teaches a lesson: if you act rightly, it is remembered; if you create chaos, consequences follow. I hope they won’t escape accountability, because if heaven falls, no one will.”
