I’m The Party’s Security Expert” – Amaechi Positions Himself As Sole Solution To National Threats

Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has highlighted his experience in tackling insecurity as a key advantage over other aspirants seeking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 election.

In a video shared on his Facebook page on Thursday, Amaechi recalled that Port Harcourt, the state capital, was plagued by violent crimes, kidnappings, and a surge in robberies before his administration assumed office.

“I governed a state where people were being killed and kidnapped. Robbery was rampant, and residents couldn’t even walk freely in Port Harcourt,” he stated.

He detailed how his administration quickly restored peace, reviving economic and social activities across the state.

“Parties had stopped, hospitals were in crisis, and the only form of entertainment for men was their wives. But within six months of taking office, we drove out the criminals, encouraged people to return to work and social life, and allowed everyone to live freely,” Amaechi recounted.

The former governor emphasized that his record in Rivers State equips him for national leadership, noting that the security challenges confronting Nigeria today are issues he has successfully managed before.

“This is why I am the only aspirant in the party who brings not just experience, but practical knowledge from handling exactly the kind of challenges we face at the national level,” he asserted.

Amaechi argued that his hands-on expertise in crisis management sets him apart as he competes for the ADC’s presidential ticket.
