Omenazu stressed that true leadership is defined not by titles but by the sacrifices made for the greater good. As part of this effort, he declared that the last weekends of each month in 2025 would be dedicated to prayers and supplications for Kanu’s release and the restoration of peace in the region.

Representing the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Omenazu reaffirmed the group’s commitment to exploring all avenues to secure Kanu’s freedom.

He cited the successful efforts of Yoruba leaders in securing the release of Sunday Igboho as a model of unity and diplomatic strength.

“We draw inspiration from the Yoruba leadership’s steadfast efforts that led to the release of Sunday Igboho, where unwavering solidarity and bold diplomacy paved the way for justice,” Omenazu said.
