The cleric spoke during a Sunday church service, where he shared how deeply troubled he was by the news of the attack.

He revealed that the situation nearly made him cancel his church’s Children’s Day programme due to the emotional weight and uncertainty surrounding the kidnapped pupils.

Eze said his thoughts were with parents anxiously awaiting news of their children, while also expressing concern about the possible psychological and emotional trauma the pupils may suffer when they are eventually rescued.

He highlighted the fear and distress the families must be experiencing and offered prayers for the safe return of the victims.

The cleric, who leads the online prayer movement New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), also called on the public to pray for the release of the abducted pupils and teachers, while urging security agencies to act swiftly to ensure their safe rescue.

He said: “The people closest to me know I was on the brink of cancelling the Children’s Day celebration; I was on the brink of saying why does it have to hold. There is probably a mother somewhere who is on NSPPD and is saying to God, please let my children be released.

“I have two children; I don’t know how I will feel. The children are somewhere in the forest where we don’t know, without shelter. I am more worried about the trauma that will hit the children when they come out. I am praying that God will help them. It is so painful.”
