The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has ordered an investigation into security lapses at Yola Airport following repeated incidents involving Patience Abbo, wife of former Adamawa North Senator, Ishaku Abbo.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Patience Abbo was reportedly granted access to restricted airport areas without being a passenger on the flights, raising concerns about breaches of aviation security protocols.

Keyamo’s directive followed the circulation of videos showing Abbo repeatedly accompanying her husband beyond security checkpoints and onto the airport tarmac, sparking questions about compliance with aviation safety regulations.

According to Premium Times, sources within the ministry confirmed that the minister requested formal explanations from airport security authorities after receiving reports of the incidents.

It was gathered that Abbo initially informed Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel that she was travelling with her husband and was therefore allowed passage beyond the terminal gates.

However, a report from the Airport Chief of Security indicated that officers later discovered she was not a passenger when she returned alone to the terminal after seeing her husband off at the aircraft.

The explanation was further called into question after a second video surfaced showing her again accompanying her husband across the tarmac.

In the footage, she was seen dressed in a brown flowing gown, popularly known as an ‘abaya’, while wheeling a colourful suitcase towards the aircraft stairs.

Under Part 17 of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs), airport aprons and other operational zones are designated as Security Restricted Areas (SRAs), accessible only to authorised personnel and properly screened passengers.

The ministerial probe is expected to focus on the conduct of Aviation Security officers on duty during both incidents, as well as how unauthorised access was repeatedly granted. Investigators will also examine how a videographer was permitted into restricted zones to film the departures.
