This announcement was made on Monday through a statement from Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Command. The decision follows recent political developments within the state.

According to the statement, the newly appointed State Commissioner of Police, Bala Mustapha, communicated the IGP’s directive for the withdrawal of all police personnel previously tasked with securing the Local Government Secretariats.

The statement emphasized that this action aligns with the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to maintaining neutrality and ensuring the smooth operation of democratic institutions. The Rivers State Command reassured the public of its dedication to maintaining peace and order throughout the state, affirming its commitment to professionalism in the execution of its duties. Residents and stakeholders were urged to remain calm and uphold the law as the situation develops.
