He stated, “I’m taken aback by the notion of a confrontation between the Imo state government and the Nigeria Labour Congress. I don’t believe it’s accurate because there is no discord.
The relationship between my government and the Nigeria Labour Congress in Imo state is quite amicable. What I’ve heard is that the national leadership, specifically the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, continues to issue threats, discussing shutting down Imo state, occupying Imo, and making life unbearable for its citizens.
I haven’t had the opportunity to understand the rationale behind all these threats,” as per Mr. Uzodinma’s statement.
The governor also accused Ajaero of being a member of the opposition Labour Party.
This development occurred as the NLC and Trade Union Congress initiated a halt to economic activities in the state due to the treatment allegedly inflicted upon the union’s president.
NLC President Joe Ajaero was reportedly subjected to brutality by individuals believed to be loyal to Uzodinma last week.
The labor union asserted that Governor Uzodinma’s supporters, in collaboration with the Imo State Police command, had assaulted the union’s president.
