Speaking to the press in her office, Chantel Adanna Onwuzuruike, the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Networking, emphasized that the retrieval and restoration of these properties represent one of the accomplishments of the current administration.
Among the recovered properties, one of particular significance to the State government is the Kinsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University in Ogboko, Ideato South Local Government Area of the State.
Onwuzuruike revealed that this university, constructed using over N40 billion in state funds, had allegedly been misappropriated by the former governor.
Additionally, the administration has regained control of several markets constructed with state funds in various areas of the state, which had been handed over to associates of the previous administration.
The Special Adviser also highlighted that Governor Uzodimma successfully retrieved Imo Standard Shoes from AMCON (Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria) and cleared a debt of N1.6 billion with the goal of industrializing the state and generating employment opportunities.
