This initiative builds upon the successful training and empowerment of 5,000 youths as part of an ambitious skill-up project, ultimately targeting 300,000 youths for similar opportunities.

In addition to imparting digital literacy skills, the program focuses on equipping participants with the essential skills of the 4th industrial revolution, preparing them to adapt to and excel in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Declan Emelumba, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, clarified that this project aligns with the shared prosperity agenda of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.

Furthermore, Imo State takes pride in being the first in Nigeria to effectively equip such a significant number of young citizens with essential digital skills, preparing them for the technology-driven world and modern economy.

Emelumba emphasized that this initiative is in accordance with the Imo Digital Economy Agenda (IDEA) 2022-2026, which aims to position the state as the digital skills hub of Africa.
