Additionally, the command reported securing the convictions of 250 suspects during this period.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Lawan, made this revelation during a press briefing held at the Police Command headquarters in Maiduguri.
He commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s administration for amending the Borno Penal Code, which has led to increased convictions and more severe penalties for criminals.
Furthermore, Lawan praised the residents of Borno for their heightened awareness of security issues and for promptly providing valuable information to the police for appropriate action.
The Commissioner of Police highlighted a few specific cases, including the arrest of a 37-year-old man named Hamisu Dauda from Panshani village in Shani LGA.
Dauda was accused of raping a 62-year-old woman and robbing her of N42,700. Another case involved a 25-year-old individual named Umar Goni, who allegedly stabbed a 35-year-old man named Zarami Modu for supposedly tempting his wife.
