Born on October 7, 1968, in Akatta Oru-East Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria, CP Benneth C. Igweh brings his experience and leadership to address the escalating security concerns in the FCT.

In a statement released on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, CP Igweh emphasized the need for diligence and responsibility among the officers during his inaugural meeting with Senior Officers of the Command. He asserted his administration’s commitment to maintaining zero tolerance for laxity and outlined key principles, including adherence to global policing standards, respect for fundamental human rights, visibility policing, and a proactive approach to security challenges in the territory.

CP Igweh urged residents of the FCT to collaborate with the Police, emphasizing the importance of their involvement in intelligence gathering and other supportive measures. The Commissioner is determined to foster a secure environment in the city and called for collective efforts to restore peace and stability.
