Egbetokun strongly criticized officers who engage in lobbying for special promotions, specifically mentioning that recommendations from politicians and influential figures will no longer be tolerated. He emphasized that any such recommendations will result in disciplinary actions moving forward. Additionally, he clarified that any future cases requiring special promotions will be managed solely by the police administration.

Furthermore, Egbetokun prohibited the solicitation of postings, warning that individuals found guilty of this offense will face appropriate legal consequences under police regulations.

In line with these directives, the police chief presided over the decoration of 15 senior officers who were recently promoted to higher ranks. Among those honored were one Deputy Inspector-General of Police, 11 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, and 15 Commissioners of Police.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, Egbetokun urged them to uphold high standards and set a positive example for their subordinates.
