IPOB Calls For Unconditional Release Of Nnamdi Kanu Amid Health Concerns....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health of their detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, calling for his immediate and unconditional release. This plea comes amidst fears that Kanu’s life is in serious jeopardy while held in solitary confinement by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.

Emma Powerful, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, issued a statement yesterday emphasizing the urgency of the situation. “The health of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is rapidly deteriorating. His continued solitary confinement is a deliberate tactic by the Nigerian government to provoke IPOB,” he stated.

The separatist group accused the Nigerian government of deliberately endangering Kanu’s life and warned of severe consequences if any harm befell him while in custody.

IPOB has called upon the international community to intervene, highlighting Kanu’s detention since his re-arrest in June 2021. They reiterated their demand for his release based on his declining health and the conditions of his confinement.

“The Nigerian government’s refusal to release our leader, despite both domestic and international court orders, is a deliberate provocation,” IPOB’s statement read.

Prominent Nigerian figures, including 50 members of the National Assembly, have also joined in calls for Kanu’s release, yet the government has not responded.

“We maintain a non-violent stance in the Biafra struggle despite the government’s heavy-handed tactics against us,” IPOB affirmed.

They concluded with a stark warning: “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s health is critically compromised, and he must be unconditionally released from DSS custody to receive urgent medical attention. Nigeria risks dire consequences if anything untoward happens to him.
