Explaining his rationale for switching parties, the Nigerian aviation expert cited his initial opposition to the Muslim-Muslim ticket under President Bola Tinubu, which led him to leave the APC before the last presidential elections. However, he expressed a change of perspective, noting that Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated equity and inclusiveness, particularly towards Christian Northerners and other Muslim ethnic groups.
Balami lamented the leadership crisis and perceived incompetence within the Labour Party, which he believed hindered its ability to lead Nigeria effectively. He emphasized his belief in APC’s capacity to lead the country towards progress and urged others to join him in supporting the party’s efforts.
Reflecting on his previous move to the Labour Party, Balami acknowledged his initial sacrifice for the nation and Nigerian youths who supported him. Now, after consultations with various leaders and stakeholders, including the middle-belt caucus and his family, he has decided to realign with the APC, confident in its vision for a prosperous Nigeria.
In conclusion, Balami expressed satisfaction with the current administration’s inclusive approach and called on fellow Nigerians to collaborate with APC in the collective effort to redeem the country.
