According to IPOB, the pro-Biafra group asserts that the title rightfully belongs to the late Biafra leader.

The group has alerted Igwe Orizu that anyone attempting to purchase the title is opposing the interests of the IPOB.

Emma Powerful, the spokesperson for IPOB, alleges that the heir of Igwe Orizu is contemplating acquiring the title to lend legitimacy to his gubernatorial campaign.

A portion of Powerful’s statement reads, “Our eternal leader’s title should be left out of his political plans.

In life, Ojukwu made his stance clear. Ojukwu represents the people and not the personal ambitions of any individual.”

IPOB, through this message, also notifies Igwe Orizu of the covert plans taking place without his knowledge.

The group warns those involved to abandon their scheme, emphasizing that the “Ikemba Nnewi” title exclusively belongs to their eternal leader, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, irrespective of his life status, due to his significant contributions to the Biafra Nation.

The statement further asserts that the title is of utmost importance to Alaigbo and its history, and no one has the right to manipulate such a prestigious title associated with the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

IPOB firmly states that anyone intending to purchase the title is challenging the group and the Igbo people in general.

IPOB concludes the warning by urging Igwe Orizu of Nnewi to prevent those contemplating the sale of the “Ikemba Nnewi” title, as the consequences of such actions will result in the group’s firm opposition.

The group emphasizes that the title belongs solely to the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and no one in Nnewi or any part of Alaigbo should be granted the “Ikemba Nnewi” title.
