In a statement released on Thursday, Police spokesperson SP Ahmed Wakil urged supporters of political parties to comply with legal regulations during celebratory events.

He explicitly cautioned against road blockades, the use of fireworks, and any actions that violate the rights of others.

The statement emphasized that security agencies have been strategically deployed to enforce this directive.

According to Wakil, “All forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters for or against winners/losers of the Gubernatorial Election Petition judgment from Court of Appeal Abuja Division… must not infringe on the right of others.”

Furthermore, the statement warned that supporters should conduct themselves in accordance with the law, and activities such as road blockages, fireworks, and any attempts to incite or blackmail the opposition party would not be tolerated.

The Commissioner of Police for the state, Auwal Musa Muhammad, appealed to the public to cooperate with security agencies, assuring that numerous police operatives would be positioned at strategic locations, routes, and communities to maintain law and order.
