In a message posted by Iran’s mission to the United Nations on its X account, it declared, “Iran’s legal, rational, and legitimate response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime—which involved targeting Iranian nationals and interests and infringing upon the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran—has been duly carried out. Should the Zionist regime dare to respond or commit further acts of malevolence, a subsequent and crushing response will ensue. Regional states and the Zionists’ supporters are advised to part ways with the regime.”
SaharaReporters reported that Iran launched approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which claimed to have intercepted most of the incoming missiles. Both Israel and the United States have pledged to retaliate against Tehran’s escalation, raising concerns of a broader conflict.
Israeli officials indicated that a “significant retaliation” could occur within days, potentially targeting oil production facilities in Iran and other strategic sites, as reported by the U.S. news site Axios.
Despite calls for a ceasefire from the United Nations, the United States, and the European Union, hostilities between Israel and the Lebanon-based Hezbollah continued. Israel resumed its airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, targeting Hezbollah positions, and issued new evacuation orders for the area, which has seen extensive damage from previous strikes.
Hezbollah claimed to have confronted Israeli forces attempting to infiltrate the Lebanese town of Adaisseh early Wednesday, successfully forcing them to retreat.
