During the assault, four policemen were allegedly killed, and a cache of ammunition was stolen. The attackers opened fire on the policemen, set parts of the police station on fire, and managed to escape before military reinforcements arrived.

Despite efforts by the military and security operatives, Borno State continues to face severe attacks from insurgents and terrorists. The Borno State Police Command confirmed the attack, stating that four policemen lost their lives in the exchange of fire with the terrorists. Normalcy has reportedly been restored in the town.
