Reflecting on the fallout, he disclosed that his once-thriving MC career—where he earned ₦1.5 million per event back when the dollar traded at ₦150—completely collapsed.
“It got really bad for about two years,” he said. “At the time, I charged ₦1.5 million per event and occasionally got booked for $10,000 gigs, earning at least $60,000 a year from that alone. But once I began criticizing Nigerian pastors, everything dried up.”
Daddy Freeze noted that since 2019, he hasn’t secured a single MC engagement. He recalled one instance where a client cancelled after public backlash over his involvement.
“I had one booking, and after the flyer went viral, people threatened to boycott the event. The organizer eventually called me and said, ‘If it’s about the upfront payment, you can keep it,’” he recounted.
