Jamoh Sets Record Straight: ‘I Never Claimed El-Rufai Is Still APC Member’

Bashir Jamoh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), has denied claims that he said ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, remains a stakeholder in the party.

Some earlier reports alleged that Jamoh, during a press conference in Kaduna, stated El-Rufai was still a member of the ruling APC.

However, in a statement released on Saturday, Jamoh dismissed the reports as false and misleading, stressing that he never made such remarks at any time or to any media outlet.

“My attention has been drawn to a misleading publication by some media platforms on August 7 and 8, 2025, falsely claiming I said Malam Nasir El-Rufai is still a member of the APC. I categorically state that I made no such statement. The report is fabricated and a complete misrepresentation of facts,” he said.

Jamoh urged the public to disregard the publication and treat it as fake news, reiterating his commitment to truth, accountability, and responsible public discourse.

El-Rufai recently resigned from the APC and aligned himself with opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
