Jide Awobona Speaks Out On Kissing Scenes, Reveals What Really Worries Him
Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has spoken about his concerns regarding kissing scenes in movies, saying certain experiences on set have made him more conscious of personal hygiene and possible health risks.
Awobona discussed the issue during an interview with Yanga FM, where he recalled having to film a kissing scene with an actress whose breath, according to him, had an unpleasant odour.
The actor explained that while kissing scenes are sometimes required as part of a role, he becomes uncomfortable when actors do not maintain proper personal hygiene.
He said such situations can make performers worry about potential health consequences, particularly when they are required to have close physical contact.
Recalling his experience, Awobona said he went to clean his mouth afterwards because he felt uncomfortable.
He added that he now hopes actors pay greater attention to personal hygiene before participating in intimate scenes on movie sets.
Speaking in a mix of English and Nigerian Pidgin, he said he had experienced such a situation before and described his concern about possibly being exposed to an infection or other health issue.
Awobona’s comments have renewed conversations about hygiene, comfort and health precautions during intimate scenes in film productions.
