Joint Efforts: FG And EFCC Join Hands To Tackle Fake News Epidemic

At the official launch of EFCC Radio, 97.3 FM, in Abuja, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, voiced their full support for this initiative.

Idris praised the EFCC for its tireless work in addressing economic and financial crimes, stressing its undeniable impact on Nigerian society. He particularly commended the establishment of the radio station as a vital tool in dispelling false narratives and biased depictions of EFCC’s activities.

He pledged increased support and cooperation for the radio station’s operations and other EFCC endeavors.

Olukoyede reflected on the journey towards establishing the radio station, calling its inauguration a significant achievement. He lamented the spread of misinformation, underscoring the radio station’s role in presenting EFCC’s narratives accurately.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti-corruption and Financial Crimes, Senator Emmanuel Udende, highlighted corruption’s detrimental effects on national progress. House Committee on Financial Crimes Chairman, Honourable Kayode Akinolu, urged Nigerians to embrace EFCC Radio as a primary source of information, recognizing its role in raising public awareness against corruption.
