Jonathan Can Take The North In 2027 – Udenta Drops Political Bombshell Nigerians React
The Director-General of the African Writers Institute, Udenta O. Udenta, has said that former President Goodluck Jonathan could stand a strong chance of securing victory in Northern Nigeria if he chooses to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Daily Politics, a programme aired on Trust TV, Udenta revealed that many northern leaders now regret their 2015 decision to reject Jonathan, adding that his leadership is being reassessed more positively across the region.
“The North, which turned its back on him in 2015, now admits it was a huge mistake,” Udenta said, citing his conversations with prominent leaders.
According to him, there is a growing sense of nostalgia and yearning for Jonathan’s return, with many believing he could help rescue the country.
Udenta further argued that Jonathan’s eligibility for just one term in office makes him particularly appealing to northern politicians.
“The key factor for Jonathan is that he has only one term left. That makes it attractive for the North because by 2031 there would be no controversy over succession. That’s exactly why Peter Obi was also quick to emphasize his single-term advantage,” he explained.
