A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has shed more light on the fallout between him and former President Goodluck Jonathan.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Amaechi had previously alleged that he was forced out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan. According to him, the former first couple took control of the PDP structure in Rivers State, making it impossible for him to remain in the party, which ultimately led to his departure.

Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Friday, the former Rivers State governor said his disagreements with some of Jonathan’s policies contributed to the rift. He maintained that his outspoken stance on issues of justice often made political opponents move against him.

Amaechi claimed Jonathan sidelined him within the PDP and handed over the party structure in Rivers State to others, partly because of his role as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum at the time. He said he had repeatedly engaged Jonathan in discussions over policy differences but remained opposed to certain decisions taken by the former president.

He also drew a parallel with his experience in the All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting a pattern of attempts to push him aside whenever he voiced dissent. Amaechi further revealed that he openly told President Bola Tinubu after the APC presidential primaries that he disagreed with some of his positions.
